Citation Abstract: He continued the emergence of the prose poem - as a new artistic color - a state of controversy and disagreement between creators and critics, and it had not yet settled, for despite the passage of half a century or more than its emergence as creativity and theoretical, this controversy has not stopped. There are supporters and opponents, as the new poem carries problems. The first problematic of the prose poem lies in its name, for the term “prose poem” is a shocking term for the Arab taste, whose knowledge is based on the fact that the term poem / poetry is opposite and opposite to prose. This new poetic color between the characteristics and components of the common about contradiction, not a synonym ? This study deals with the position of the pioneers of Arab poetic modernity on the prose poem, its future and the future of vertical poetry, their concept of it, and its most important characteristics, and the research came in an introduction and three topics, the first dealt with the difference between prose and poetry in the Arab heritage, and the second dealt with the influence of Western poetry in approximation Between poetry and prose, the third dealt with the position of the pioneers of free poetry regarding the prose poem, and it included three axes, the first presented the position of poets rejecting the prose poem, the second presented the position of poets in favor of the prose poem, while the third presented the position of poets advocating the prose poem.
