Data Sharing Policy – International Jordanian Journal Aryam (IJJA)
The International Jordanian Journal Aryam for Humanities and Social Sciences (IJJA) is committed to promoting transparency, reproducibility, and ethical research practices. Authors are encouraged to share research data whenever possible, provided that sharing does not violate ethical, legal, or privacy obligations.
1. General Policy
IJJA supports open data principles and encourages authors to make their research data accessible via institutional repositories, subject-specific repositories, or as supplementary materials submitted with the manuscript.
Data should be shared unless privacy, confidentiality, ethical, or legal constraints prevent open distribution. Authors must clearly state any restrictions in their manuscript.
2. Data Availability Statement
- Openly Available Data: “The data supporting the findings of this study are openly available at [repository name/link].”
- Available Upon Request: “The data supporting this study are available from the corresponding author upon reasonable request.”
- Restricted Due to Ethical or Legal Limitations: “Due to ethical/privacy restrictions, the data cannot be shared publicly. Data may be available upon request with appropriate authorization.”
- Third-Party Data: “This study uses data obtained from [third party]. Access to these data is subject to authorization from [third party]. The corresponding author can facilitate access upon request.”
3. Privacy and Confidentiality
- All shared data must be fully anonymized.
- No personal identifiers should be disclosed.
- Data sharing must comply with ethical approvals and consent forms.
- Data distribution must comply with national and international data protection laws.
4. Third-Party Data
- Authors must obtain written permission from data owners.
- Any restrictions imposed by third parties must be respected.
- Restrictions must be disclosed in the Data Availability Statement.
5. Requests for Data
Authors should respond to reasonable data requests promptly. Corresponding authors are responsible for managing and facilitating access after publication. Data restricted due to privacy or legal reasons may be shared privately in accordance with regulations.
6. Compliance
- Manuscripts may be requested for revision if data sharing is incomplete.
- Publication may be delayed until compliance is ensured.
- Non-compliant manuscripts may be rejected.
- Post-publication corrections may be issued if issues arise.
IJJA reserves the right to request supporting data from authors during peer review.
7. Digital Archiving
To ensure long-term preservation, IJJA participates in digital archiving programs such as Portico and LOCKSS. All published articles are securely archived to guarantee permanent access for future research.
