Publication Ethics & Malpractice Statement
The International Jordanian Journal Aryam for Humanities and Social Sciences (IJJA) is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics in full accordance with the guidelines and principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
The journal ensures integrity, transparency, academic rigor, and ethical conduct throughout all stages of the editorial and publication process.
IJJA applies a zero-tolerance policy toward all forms of research misconduct, including but not limited to plagiarism, data fabrication, data falsification, citation manipulation, inappropriate authorship, redundant publication, and any other unethical publishing practices.
All submissions are screened for originality using plagiarism detection tools (such as Turnitin or equivalent systems) prior to publication and may be re-evaluated if ethical concerns arise after publication.
For reference, authors are encouraged to consult COPE guidelines:

1. General Ethical Principles
- A strict double-blind peer review process is applied to all submitted manuscripts.
- All authors must confirm originality and authorship through the journal’s publishing agreement.
- Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest.
- Research data, methods, and findings must be reported accurately and transparently to ensure reproducibility.
- Previously published material must not be used without proper permission.
- Any ethical violation may result in rejection, retraction, or further action in accordance with COPE guidelines.
- Confidential information obtained during the peer review process must not be used for personal gain.
2. Reporting Standards
Authors are required to provide an accurate, transparent, and objective presentation of their research.
Manuscripts must include sufficient detail, data, and references to allow reproducibility and verification by other researchers.
3. Originality and Plagiarism
- All manuscripts must be original and not under consideration elsewhere.
- Plagiarism, including self-plagiarism, is strictly prohibited.
- Proper citation of all sources is mandatory.
- All submissions are checked using plagiarism detection software before publication.
4. Multiple or Redundant Publication
Manuscripts describing the same research should not be submitted to more than one journal simultaneously.
Duplicate or redundant publication is considered a serious ethical violation.
5. Authorship Criteria
Authorship is limited to individuals who have made substantial contributions, including:
- Research conception and design
- Data collection, analysis, or interpretation
- Manuscript drafting or critical revision
- Final approval of the submitted version
- Accountability for all aspects of the work
Honorary, guest, or gift authorship is not permitted. Financial support or general supervision alone does not qualify for authorship.
6. Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) Tools
- AI tools cannot be listed as authors under any circumstances.
- Any use of AI tools (e.g., language editing, translation, or data assistance) must be disclosed in the manuscript.
- Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy and integrity of AI-assisted content.
7. Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest
Authors must disclose all potential conflicts of interest, including financial, institutional, or personal relationships that may influence the research or its interpretation.
8. Correction of Errors and Retraction Policy
If significant errors are identified in a published article, authors must notify the Editor-in-Chief immediately.
The journal may issue corrections, errata, expressions of concern, or retractions depending on the severity of the issue.
IJJA is committed to maintaining the integrity of the scholarly record in accordance with COPE guidelines.
9. Editorial Board Authorship (Endogeny Policy)
The journal maintains strict policies to ensure editorial independence and prevent endogeny.
The proportion of articles authored by members of the editorial board does not exceed 25% of total published articles per issue or per year (with a minimum threshold of 5 articles annually).
All submissions authored by editorial board members are subject to the same double-blind peer review process as external submissions without any editorial bias.
Direct Marketing Policy
The journal conducts any direct marketing activities, including invitations to submit manuscripts, in a professional, appropriate, and targeted manner directed only to relevant academic audiences, without any intrusive or unsolicited communications. The journal is committed to providing accurate and transparent information about its policies and editorial processes, ensuring that all information presented to authors and readers is truthful and not misleading in any way.
