Publication Ethics & Malpractice Statement
International Jordanian Journal Aryam for Humanities and Social Sciences is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics, in full accordance with the principles and guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). The journal ensures integrity, transparency, academic rigor, and ethical conduct throughout all stages of the editorial and publication process.
IJJA adopts a zero-tolerance policy toward unethical practices, including—but not limited to—plagiarism, data fabrication or falsification, citation manipulation, inappropriate authorship, redundant publication, and all forms of academic misconduct. Turnitin or similar plagiarism detection software is used to verify the originality of all manuscripts before and after publication.
For further reference, authors are encouraged to review the COPE guidelines: https://publicationethics.org
1. General Ethical Principles
- A strict double-blind peer-review process is applied to all submissions.
- All authors must sign a Copyright Transfer / Publishing Agreement confirming originality and authorship.
- Authors must disclose any conflicts of interest that may influence the research or its interpretation.
- Data, methods, and analytical procedures must be described with sufficient clarity to ensure replicability.
- Previously published materials must not be used without obtaining the required written permissions.
- Any detected form of plagiarism or ethical breach will result in rejection, retraction, or further action if necessary.
- Confidential information obtained through peer review must not be used for personal, academic, or financial advantage.
2. Reporting Standards
- Authors must provide an accurate, honest, and objective representation of their research findings.
- Manuscripts must include sufficient detail, data, and references to enable reproducibility by other researchers.
3. Originality and Plagiarism
All manuscripts are checked using plagiarism detection software (such as Turnitin or equivalent tools) before and after publication. Any manuscript found to contain plagiarized content will be rejected, and authors may be subject to further action.
All submitted manuscripts must be completely original.
- Authors must properly cite or quote the work of others.
- The journal strictly prohibits plagiarism—including self-plagiarism—in any form.
4. Multiple or Redundant Submission
- Manuscripts describing the same study or dataset must not be submitted to multiple journals simultaneously.
- Redundant, duplicate, or overlapping publications are considered serious ethical violations.
5. Authorship Criteria
- Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made substantial scholarly contributions, including:
- Conception, design, data analysis, or interpretation of data.
- Drafting or critical revision of the manuscript.
- Final approval of the manuscript before publication.
- Accountability for all aspects of the work.
- Honorary, guest, or gift authorship is not permitted.
- Providing funding, supervision, or technical assistance alone does not qualify for authorship.
6. Use of Artificial Intelligence Tools
- AI tools cannot be listed as authors.
- Any use of AI tools (e.g., text generation, data analysis, figures) must be disclosed in the Methods section.
- Authors are fully responsible for the accuracy and integrity of any AI-assisted content.
7. Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest
- Authors must disclose all potential conflicts of interest, including financial support, grants, institutional affiliations, or personal/commercial relationships that may influence the research.
8. Correction of Errors
- If authors discover significant errors in their published work, they must promptly inform the Editor-in-Chief.
- The journal may issue a correction, erratum, or retraction depending on the severity of the issue.
Crossmark Policy
International Jordanian Journal Aryam for Humanities and Social Sciences is committed to maintaining the integrity of the scholarly record. The journal uses Crossmark to provide updates on published content and ensure transparency.
Corrections
Corrections will be issued for significant errors affecting interpretation or accuracy and linked to the original article.
Retractions
Retracted articles remain part of the scholarly record but are clearly marked as retracted due to ethical violations or serious errors.
Updates
Minor metadata corrections may be applied without formal correction notices.
Expression of Concern
Issued when integrity is under investigation but not yet resolved.
Editorial Board Authorship Policy (Endogeny Policy)
The journal maintains strict policies to ensure editorial independence and prevent endogeny.
The proportion of published articles authored by members of the editorial board does not exceed 25% of the total published articles in any issue or within any calendar year (minimum 5 articles per year threshold applies).
All submissions authored by editorial board members are subject to the same double-blind peer review process as external submissions and are handled independently without editorial bias.
