Policy on the Use of Generative AI (GenAI)

1. General Statement

The journal recognizes the growing role of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) tools, such as ChatGPT and similar systems, in academic writing and research support. The use of these tools must be transparent, responsible, and in accordance with ethical publishing standards.

2. Permitted Use

Authors may use GenAI tools only for the following purposes:

  • Language editing and grammar improvement
  • Improving readability and clarity of the manuscript
  • Assisting in translation between languages
  • Formatting support and reference organization (non-substantive)

GenAI tools must not be used to replace the intellectual contribution of the author.

3. Prohibited Use

The use of GenAI is strictly prohibited for:

  • Generating research ideas or hypotheses without human intellectual contribution
  • Creating, fabricating, or modifying research data
  • Writing entire sections of the manuscript without author oversight
  • Acting as an author or co-author
  • Producing fabricated citations or references

4. Author Responsibility and Accountability

Authors remain fully responsible for the integrity, accuracy, and originality of their manuscripts. Any content generated or assisted by GenAI tools must be carefully reviewed and verified by the authors.

5. Disclosure Requirement

If GenAI tools are used in any part of the manuscript preparation, authors must include a disclosure statement in the manuscript (e.g., in the Acknowledgments or Methods section), specifying:

  • The name of the tool used
  • The purpose of its use
  • The extent of its contribution

Example:

“The authors used ChatGPT (OpenAI) to assist in language editing and improving readability. The authors reviewed and approved all content.”

6. Editorial and Peer Review Use

Editors and reviewers must not use GenAI tools to evaluate or process manuscripts unless explicitly authorized by the journal. All editorial decisions must remain human-led.

7. Ethical Compliance

The journal follows international publishing ethics guidelines, including COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) recommendations regarding the responsible use of artificial intelligence in scholarly publishing.
