Citation Abstract: The study aimed to examine the level of excessive Internet use and its relationship with personality patterns and environmental behavior among basic education students. A descriptive-analytical approach was employed, and the sample consisted of 148 third-grade preparatory students. Three validated instruments were used to measure Internet use, personality patterns, and environmental behaviour. The results indicated a high level of excessive Internet use among students, with statistically significant differences attributable to the number of hours of Internet use and family income, while no significant differences were found with respect to gender. Furthermore, significant correlations were found between excessive Internet use and both personality patterns and environmental behaviour, as well as between personality patterns and environmental behaviour. The study recommended designing a counselling program to raise students’ awareness of the effects of excessive Internet use.
