Citation Abstract: World War II marked a major turning point in the international system, weakening traditional colonial powers, particularly Britain and France, while strengthening the United States. In the postwar period, the Middle East emerged as a strategic arena for rivalry between the United States and the Soviet Union within the framework of the Cold War. This rivalry significantly influenced the region and contributed to the emergence of Arab unity projects.
