Women’s participation in economic life in southern Jordan and its relationship to their social status from their point of view (a case study of female workers in the public university sector)

Abstract:Woman’s participation in the economic sector in the south of Jordan and its influence of her social status (single, divorced, married) is considered a research topic that is worth studying this is due to the special sociological status for the southern people in Jordan in which the young nowadays look for the working girl when they want to select their pertness. Woman’s work is considered an influential factor for the young males selection for his future partner, particularly during the current hard economic condition that the Jordanian citizen living in. The study aims at investigating the rate of woman’s participation in the economic life in the south of Jordan and its influence or her civil status ( single, divorced, married )from her point of view ( studying the status of women working in the Jordanian public universities ) according to the varieties of the civil status ,years of work ,the level monthly income ,educational level .The researcher uses the descriptive analytical methodology because of its relevance for the nature of the study .Questionnaire was designed consisting of (40) questions as the tool of the study .the subjects of the study consist of all women working at the public universities in the south of Jordan with all different educational backgrounds, years of work ,and the domain of the work .A random sample consisting of 370 workers was selected.
