The Degree to which Primary Stage English Language Teachers Practice the Active Teaching Strategies from their Point of view

Abstract: The study aimed to scrutinize the Degree of English Language Teachers’ Practice of Active Teaching Strategies for Primary Stage, according to gender variables, years of experience, and academic qualification. The study population consisted of all English language teachers of the primary stage in the Education Directorate of Al-Qweismeh District in the capital Amman. They were (450) Male and female teachers, and the study sample which was randomly selected, consisted of (208) male and female teachers. To achieve the aim of the study, a questionnaire was used after confirming its validity and reliability, and the descriptive survey approach was applied, since it is considered the most appropriate methodology to accomplish the purposes of the study.  The findings of the study showed that the total degree of English language teachers’ practice of active teaching strategies for the primary stage, from their perspective, was moderate. The estimates of the study sample for all domains of the study tool were moderate, excluding the domains of dialogue and discussion, and problem solving, which were estimated at a high degree, while the lowest ranking was for E-learning, with a moderate degree.
