Citation Abstract: This article explored the role of Iraqi public universities in promoting political awareness among students. It explored this role through targeting the role of curricula, faculty member and student activities.  The researcher adopted a descriptive analytical approach. He designed a questionnaire for gathering the needed data about the study’s topic.  The population involves all the students enrolled in Iraqi public universities. The researcher selected a purposive sample consisting of 240 BA students from the department of political sciences at 4 universities in Iraq. Those universities are: (University of Kufa, University of Baghdad, University of Mosul and Al-Nahrain University).  Questionnaire forms were passed to those students in an electronic manner. (229) forms were retrieved and considered valid for analysis. SPSS software was employed.  The researcher found that Iraqi public universities play a major role in promoting political awareness among students. He found that curricula, faculty members and student activities in Iraqi public universities play a major role in promoting political awareness among students.  He recommends carrying out student activities in Iraqi public universities that aim at promoting knowledge about political concepts.
