Abstract
Egypt, after coming under Islamic authority, experienced a complex political reality where many local or regional authorities exercised dominance independently of the central government. This decentralization contributed to the success and survival of these authorities. One of Egypt’s key advantages was its desert geography, which made it difficult for external powers to control. Additionally, Egypt had been a center of civilization since ancient times, providing a foundation for administrative systems and governance that evolved throughout the Fatimid era.
