Description
Abstract: This article seeks to explore the features of Al-Shinqeeti’s presence in the Hijaz, for the purpose of performing the Hajj, and to communicate with his cognitive space in studying Islamic texts and the discussions that took place in the Islamic space. The truth is that this trip expressed the cognitive concerns that Al-Shinqeeti was experiencing in Hijaz, and his distance from home in light of the absence of a central authority to organize this embassy and the scientific and religious trip, which was difficult to achieve due to the rugged road and the risks it entailed. This is something that made the journey experience go beyond the act itself and into scientific and cultural spaces through which the Shimabara emerged as supporters of Islamic knowledge and texts, taking into account privacy and self-defense despite their nomadism and lack of means.
Keywords: The concept of the journey, the pilgrimage to the Holy Land, the itinerary of the journey, Chinguetti.
