Abstract: In the second half of the twentieth century, modern linguistic trends emerged that restored consideration to the dictionary in the study of compounds and the study of grammatical structures. Thus, the dictionary became a branch of linguistics that studies the specificity of lexical units in the language, especially in structure. These modern linguistic approaches are mainly represented in the theory of syntactic-lexicography by Mautice Gross, the theory of meaning-text by Mel’cuk, and the theory of classes of things by Gaston Gross.
