Abstract: Both Miral Al-Tahawy and Malika Moghaddam started building their vision on the subject of the desert from two different, opposing points of view, represented by the duality of (the sacred and the profane). As for the sacred, it was associated with Miral Al-Tahawy in the novel “Al-Khaba,” while the profane was associated with Malika Moghaddam in the novel “The Forbidden.” Miral Al-Tahawy looked at the desert from a moderate perspective. It is neither completely rejected nor forbidden to the point of being cursed, as was stated by Malika Moghaddam, who believes that the desert is the punishment and the curse. The novel The Invisible and the Forbidden is considered an autobiography that indicates the desire to delve into the individual self and contemplate its conditions and changes and the scope of its freedoms with the different types of these freedoms, in the desert space and Bedouin life and the traditions and customs that distinguish it.
