DOUBLE-BLIND PEER-REVIEW PROCESS

International Jordanian journal Aryam for humanities and social sciences double-blind peer-review process is summarized in the following steps:

1. Submission of the Manuscript: The submitting/corresponding author should submit the manuscript via the IJJA online submission system. The author must ensure all eligible co-authors are included and have approved the manuscript.
2. Editorial Office Assessment: The editorial office checks the manuscript’s style, composition, and adherence to Author Guidelines; scientific quality is not reviewed at this stage.
3. Appraisal by the Editor-in-Chief and Editorial Board Members: The Editor-in-Chief sends the manuscript to an editorial member for blind review, checking originality and suitability. Two reviewers are suggested if the manuscript passes this stage; otherwise it is rejected.
4. Invitation of Reviewers: The Editor-in-Chief invites appropriate reviewers until two accept.
5. Response of Invitations: Reviewers accept/reject based on experience, conflicts, and availability, suggesting alternatives if needed.
6. Review is Conducted: Reviewers provide comprehensive critiques within ~4 weeks, evaluating scientific validity, originality, methodology, references, and significance, and recommend acceptance, revision, or rejection.
7. The Journal Evaluates the Reviews: The Editor-in-Chief considers all reviews, sending to a third reviewer in case of conflicting opinions.
8. Revising and Resubmitting: Authors revise according to reviewer comments and resubmit; responses must be point-by-point.
9. Editorial Process: Editor cross-checks revisions and may return the article to reviewers or authors for further changes.
10. Decision on Article: Final decision by Editor-in-Chief; authors are notified. Accepted papers proceed to editing and production.
11. Production: Manuscripts are prepared with professional services for publication.
12. Online Publication: Articles are published with DOI once procedures are complete.

Based on the manuscript’s originality, relevance, significance, novelty, completeness, clarity, and citation correctness, reviewers provide justified recommendations for one of the following actions:

• Accepted after minor revisions
• Accepted after major revisions
• Rejected
• Accepted with withdrawal reservations
