Abstract: The current study aimed to identify the requirements and challenges of applying strategic planning. To achieve the goal of the study, the researcher used a questionnaire tool that was applied using the descriptive analytical approach to the study sample, which consisted of workers in the financial department in the Iraqi Ministry of Electricity, who numbered (160). The results of the study concluded that: The application of strategic planning in the Iraqi Ministry of Electricity reached a moderate degree of application.
