Abstract: At the time of the Ottoman occupation of Iraq in 1532, the conditions of the country were troubled by mass destruction and ruin for the country by the Mongols. As a result, the number of Jews in Iraq diminished, but when Sultan Suleiman came, he did not harm them because he was a tolerant person. The Jewish community expanded and became greater and enjoyed independence in supervising its religious affairs and its participation in administrative matters in the country, especially during the Mamluk era due to their importance in the country`s progress in the matters of trade and money management. When the Ottoman reforms were issued, these reforms Spread among the sects. It emphasized the security and freedom of the Jewish community, so they enjoyed independence and self- privilege, participated the Jews in government jobs, and the Ottoman gave an important role to the Jews and they became in a prominent place in society.
