Abstract Box
Abstract: The historical scene throughout the ages has witnessed important events shaped by influential figures who played pivotal roles on the stage of history. Among these figures is Adolf Hitler, the German-Austrian leader who left a deep historical mark through the events he influenced. Hitler’s impact on Germany and, more broadly, on Europe was profound and far-reaching. It is difficult to summarize the complex circumstances that led to such a dangerous transformation in Germany—one that ultimately threatened world peace in an unprecedented manner. While many studies emphasize Hitler’s foreign policy and the wars he waged across Europe, fewer explore his domestic measures to consolidate power. From his early days in office, Hitler took practical steps to unify authority—beginning with the dissolution of parliament and new elections. He subsequently suspended several constitutional articles from 1919 (Articles 114, 117, 118, 123, 124, and 153), which had guaranteed personal freedom, the sanctity of homes, confidentiality of correspondence and communication, freedom of speech, opinion, association, and peaceful assembly, as well as the protection of private property. These measures, among others, enabled him to consolidate control, challenge major powers, and engage in fierce wars that resulted in large-scale occupation and devastation.
