Abstract: As a result of the transformations and developments that took place in the Arab Gulf countries, including Kuwait, since the second half of the twentieth century, especially after the discovery of oil and women’s access to their rights in all areas of education and work, therefore, recent years have witnessed a noticeable development in the conditions of women in Kuwait, especially after Iraq’s invasion of Kuwait. Controversy has increased about the importance of their participation in the political process and granting them the right to vote. Therefore, this study aims to shed light on the participation of Kuwaiti women in the Kuwaiti National Assembly and the difficulties they faced from the Salafist group. This study attempted to clarify, through two sections, the establishment of the Kuwaiti National Assembly. The second is a historical trace of women’s attempts and their ability to participate in nominations for the Council.
