The First Timurid Occupation of Iraq and its Collapse 795-797AH / 1393-1395AD

Abstract: After the collapse of the Ilkhanid state of the Mongols in the year 736 AH / 1335 AD, Iraq submitted to Prince Hassan Al-Jalairi, who managed, after a four-year conflict with the competing force, to share the property of the Ilkhanid state, and in the year 740 AH / 1339 AD he managed to seize Baghdad and announce the establishment of an entity in it that was named the Al-Jalairi state after The Jalair and Jalair tribe is one of the Mongol tribes whose leaders were among the participants in the administration of the Ilkhanid Mongol state in Iraq, Iran and Azerbaijan. Sultan Hassan Al-Jalairi ruled Iraq, taking Baghdad as the capital of his state from the year (740-757 AH / 1339-1356 AD), and to succeed him after him to rule His son, Sultan Uwais (757-776 AH / 1356-1374 AD) and stability prevailed during the reign of Uwais in Iraq until his death in the year 776 AH / 1374 AD, to be succeeded by his son, Sultan Hussein. Hussein and his brother Ahmed Al-Jalairi’s seizure of power in the year 784 AH / 1382 AD. He described Sultan Ahmed as being ill-mannered and openly corrupt and mistreating the subjects. During his reign, Iraq witnessed the Timurid invasion of him. And he established a state for him in which it was called the Timurid state in the year 765 AH / 1363 AD.
