This is why many researchers emphasize that children’s acquisition of social and emotional competencies is one of the most important types of learning at all stages and from early childhood. Especially since it is during early childhood, the child is an emotional and social being par excellence. On one hand, his emotions are rapid and are revealed through behavioral manifestations. On the other hand, it learns through social interaction with the surroundings, such as family, educator, colleagues and friends, influenced by a set of factors provided by the environment. Accordingly, our current research sheds light on the most important elements of socio-emotional development, by first focusing on the most important founding and explaining theories of this kind of development, for a more in-depth understanding of how this aspect is developed. Secondly, by reviewing the specific frame of reference for the emotional and social competencies required in early childhood. Finally, some strategies and methods of intervention that can enhance this growth and enhance the acquisition of skills in line with the target age group are discussed.
